C’MON MAINE. ERTELOFTHENIGHT WEEKEND IN REVIEW.
FRIDAY - WHEN THE SHARK BITES
The weekend started around 2:30PM when I drove over to Chez Normandie and met up with Nick and Co. After moments ablaze my desire to crash due to the exhaustion of the previous week were accentuated. I knew it must occur.
AMC Madmen. I had missed it the night before as I was drinking Miller Lite tall boys at Echo Park Film Center and then eating Big Macs and then feeling kind of gross. I turn it on mid afternoon, and nap like a sleeping moleskin.
Nightime approaches. We make our way to Formosa. And there we stay. LoomZIS, Nick, Stevala, Jerome, Ian, JoSePH and Dee = all in love.
StevALA and I say goodbye to everyone and wait for about 20MinZ for the rest of our crew to come outside.
NICE.
SATURDAY - DOUBLEDAY
Well look. Jerome and I went over to Rafi’s house for a BBQ. The sun sweltered and we drank about several or more BeerZ. Then Rafi served delicious BBQ RIBZ and chickenz. Then I realized iZ is drunk and fell asleep in their extra bedroom. Aw thanks Ma.
Then we came home and slept like little babies until Tony Maitz came in and we said “hi” like ZombieZ.
Then at about 12:30AM we got our second wind and went downtown to Seven Grand and had some ice water (as we had done enough drinking). Then we went to The Standard dowtown where Ian promptly changed into a robe (pictures to follow later). A giant black foot adorned the nearly master bedroom sized bathroom for which the men used to hump and to stand upon. Defying gravity. Defying space and time, all was lost.
The Standard Downtown looks like the set of a Kubrick film, and on the way out we ran into what some might consider unsavory characters. When the elevator door opened and I saw their glory, two fully animated hookers with what Jerome described to me as tiny, orange, self tanned men from New Jersey.
Though I was not overly interested in holding any of these people we crammed into the elevator and all I could think of is how we might get stuck in their with them and what they might do if we did. And how it might be detrimental to our health.
Jerome and I speed walked ahead of their party while the men proceeded to call their hookers by the name of “cum dumpster”, like a pet name, except very very disturbing.
5AM, we end up at Los Tacos for the El Pastor. Which was very very good. And we even managed to avoid the man who had a plastic bag full of dicks that we saw on one of our previous visits. He was nowhere in sight, most of our fears regarding him were then put to rest.
SUNDAY - RABBIT MEAT DAY
This is the first day that I have been to the beach in LA. I wore a two piece and every glowing morsel showed. It was rich.
Waves crashed upon our shit. Mammoth waves. And some of us were feeling nervous regarding it. Others were not quite as nervous. Dashing into them and coming out…unharmed.
Back to Loomis’s residence where the meat was cooked. JoSePH had lit the grill on fire several times over and everything had come out perfectly. Ian and I provided an Italian app, just right, just ripe. Mozarella and tomatoes, hello lampost whatcha’ knowin?
The night ended and we went back to Hollywood with full stomach feelings.
MONDAY – WELL THIS WAS LABOR DAY
Very much sleeping occurred in the morning time. We then went to The Hundreds Block Party right off of Fairfax which was very crowded and warm. I was wearing a ridiculous outfit and a headband and leather shoes. Everyone looked ridiculous. Only the ridiculous looking men were accepted. The women were expected to look sexy and HOT. I was merely warm. (Looking back on this post 5min later, I realize I am downplaying how much I really didn’t like this event. It was far too much. Really. The People were unfriendly. Sincerely.)
Open bar was a plus 10 points. But as I said it was a scorcher and there weren’t a lot of places to hide from the sun’s devious rays in a one block radius. What ended up happening is that I got pretty pissed. Mostly, mostly because no one would give neither me nor Jerome a free t shirt. And this hurt me to the core.
So. Then. We ended up at JosePh’s parents establishment for some beerz and some white winez and some talk of the recent Burning Man Festival, and that basically…basically is what happened.
Thank you persons, places + things. Only one problem with all of this it was the loss of an IRB shaped diamond. Miss you IndieRockBakery .
