SUPER INDULGER + DINNER JR.

LAST NIGHT IN LA LA Land I thought it’d be OK to go out and get the goods. The goods of life. The fun shit. The delicious shit. FIRST STOP, The Cat and Fiddle. This Cat + Fiddle combo bar gave me a stamp on the hand that said THE CAT. It was most welcome, a symbol of this night. Meeting up with some serious homeZ from around town and doing some talk. The Cat and Fiddle is a place where English style pub fare and drink are given. I have been here many times and enjoyed the dartboard and to come here in the summer and sit outside and drink greyhounds and then walk home.  It’s kind of rustic and kind of enjoyable for everyone but has its regulars who are local Hollywood adults. I’d say most who frequent here are not in “THE INDUSTRY”.

NEXT. I ventured to a place called FATFISH. There is one in West Hollywood and also one in Korea Town. It’s kaizen sushi and the sushler comes around on little colored plates and is chosen by the chef and is actually, usually half off at this place and then you stack the plates up (they range in price by color) and you get an impressive structure. Like chips at a casino but the opposite. You trade them in and then you pay. Oysters were also had. This is a BYOB establishment and that is a welcome thing because it is less expensive then ordering drinks in a restaurant. It has a modern, youthful decor. The kaizen sushi selections are usually tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, octopus, yellowtail, some rolls, some half fried rolls, edamame, tempura and what not. The basic stuff that is rather good. The girls next to us had extra cold sake and offered it to us. We graciously accepted and they put them on the conveyer belt and we took them cordially. You may say, “Oh Ertel, it seems like you’ve had so much. So much food and drink. So much good times.” I would agree. But knowing how KINGLY one must be sometimes it could be inferred that the indulgence would not end here, never end.

LAST. The place is called El Matador and its the best in tacos. El ultimo. I have told the tale before of how we placed a stack of one dollar bills on this counter and asked for all we could get. Tonight was not that night. I sampled while INFY  enjoyed a dinner. It had been a while since I had such a feast. And I worried for my health + arteries + body in general. But I can report that all is functioning normally today when the morning sun arose in the sky and when Ertel of the Night gently falls to earth.
