INDIE ROCK MUSICAL (EVERYONE’S DOING IT)
Remember when we heard that The Decemberists were going to being doing a rock opera musical for their next album that they were also touring with (The Hazards of Love)? Well guess what? Yeasayer just jumped on the bandwagon and brought friends.
“Wilder has already roped in a very serious list of contributors to record stuff for the show, including his fellow Yeasayer members and folks from MGMT, Dirty Projectors, Man Man, Chairlift, Dragons of Zynth, and Suckers. However, he won’t be done with the recording until he completes sessions with a gospel choir. From the looks of things, this is an awfully ambitious project and one that could seriously rule.”
It’s called Break Line and could seriously rule indeed and I for one enjoy A Chorus Line and Fame but know that this will be more about an “interatial love affair in a cole mining town at the turn of the century” and am OK with that.
